35th Annual Stars of the Industry Awards
On April 25, the Maryland Hotel Lodging Association (MHLA) will host its 35th annual Stars of the Industry Awards Luncheon.
The Stars of the Industry Awards Luncheon is an annual celebration of the exceptional individuals who help make Maryland’s hospitality industry shine. With a new award format and more than 500 guests expected, this year’s event will be the biggest in MHLA’s history.
Media are invited to attend as MHLA recognizes 258 frontline employees and managers from Maryland’s statewide lodging industry for going above and beyond to provide outstanding service to their guests and communities.
Winners were nominated by MHLA member properties in eight service categories, including:
- Back of House
- Culinary & Kitchen
- Food & Beverage
- Front Office & Guest Services
- Housekeeping
- Community Service
- Events & Sales
- Management
Winners in each category will have their moment in the spotlight as their name is called and they walk across the stage (commencement ceremony-style) to the cheers of their colleagues. This new format gives MHLA the opportunity to celebrate significantly more Stars of the Industry than ever before, representing the tremendous growth of MHLA membership and the strength of Maryland’s hospitality sector.
The program will begin at 11:30 a.m., and the awards presentation will begin at 12:15 p.m. Media are welcome to attend, film, and photograph during the ceremony. MHLA President & CEO Amy Rohrer or MHLA Chair Linda Westgate will be available for brief interviews during the lunch break at 11:45 a.m. or directly following the awards presentation. Rohrer or Westgate are also available for interviews the day before the event.
Before and after the ceremony, B-roll footage opportunities will be available of attendees networking, winners receiving their lapel pins and certificates, and winners taking group photos in front of the MHLA step and repeat backdrop and/or the “Wall of Fame” display listing the names of all this year’s winners.
