City of College Park Celebrates Small Business Saturday
The Mayor and Council of the City of College Park are proud to announce the 30th of November 2024 as Small Business Saturday.
The government of College Park, Maryland is proud to celebrate our local small businesses and the contributions they make to our local economy and community and urge the residents of our community, and communities across the country, to support small businesses and merchants on Small Business Saturday and throughout the year.
Small businesses make up an estimated $17 billion of spending on Small Business Saturday resulting in 61% of shoppers finding a small business or independently owned restaurant where they are likely to return and become a regular customer. Small businesses are both owned and operated by large numbers of minority groups like Women making up 49.2 percent of workers and owned 44.3 percent of business, Veterans made up 6.1 percent of workers and owned 6.7 percent of businesses and Racial minorities made up 42.5 Percent of workers and owned 36.6 percent of businesses.
College Park, Maryland supports our local businesses that create jobs, boost our local economy, and preserve our communities, including Taqueria Habanero, Virtual X Kitchen, Proteus Bicycles and Brews, Laser Essentials, Hair+Space Hair Gallery, Next Day Signs and Terrapin Station and Jerk at Nite Restaurants.
